FAQ

Short answers to the questions people ask most.

Why do I see a different answer when I ask ChatGPT myself?

Engines answer differently every time, and also differ by country, language, sign-in and chat history. Botlum asks from the prompt's country with no history, every day, and counts shares over many answers. One answer you see yourself is a single draw; the dashboard is the average. See Why answers change.

How long until I see results?

Minutes for the first answers: new prompts are asked right away. A trend needs a week or two of daily answers, and the dashboard tells you when there are too few answers to compare periods.

How many prompts do I need?

Enough to cover how buyers ask about your category in each market that matters: often 10–20 per market for a focused product, more for a broad one. Fewer, well-chosen prompts that do not name your brand tell you more than many branded ones.

Can I choose engines?

No, and you do not pay for them: every prompt is asked on every engine. The dashboard filters by engine.

How do I get mentioned more?

Start with the source gap: the pages engines cite when they name a competitor and not you. Get onto those pages, keep your own pages clear about who you are and what you do, and watch which prompts move. See The source gap.

Is my data shared?

No. Your projects, prompts and answers are visible to your workspace and to the share links you create. See the privacy policy.

Can I take my data out?

Yes: CSV exports, PDF reports, and the read-only API, on every plan.
