Getting started
Sign up, start the trial and get your first answers from a domain in a few minutes.
Sign up
Open the app and create an account. The first time you sign in, Botlum creates a personal organization and a workspace for you, and your trial starts. No card is needed.
The trial
The trial lasts 7 days and has these limits:
- 5 active prompts;
- 1 project;
- 3 competitors in that project;
- 1 workspace.
Every engine is included. When the trial ends without a plan, your prompts are paused. Nothing is deleted, and the answers collected so far stay readable. Choosing a plan lifts the limits at once. See Plans, trial and billing.
Your first project
A project is one brand. Create it from your domain:
- Enter your domain. Botlum reads your home page and a few pages linked from it (about, product, pricing and similar). From them it drafts a profile: the brand name, other names it goes by, what it does, its products and the countries it sells in.
- Check the profile. Correct the name, add the names people use for your brand, and choose the markets: the countries you want to be found in.
- Pick prompts. Botlum suggests questions a buyer would ask an AI assistant in each market, in the language of that market. A small share of them name your brand. Most do not, because those show whether you are found when nobody asks for you. Keep the ones that sound like your buyers, and edit them or add your own.
- Get the first answers. When you accept the prompts, Botlum asks every engine right away instead of waiting for the next daily run. The first answers usually arrive within minutes; some engines take longer.
- Add competitors. Once answers are in, Botlum lists the brands the engines name most. Track the ones that matter as competitors.
For a local business, such as a dentist, a plumber or a store, Botlum looks for the city on your site and puts it into the suggested prompts, because that is how people ask: "dentist in Berlin Mitte". Each prompt is still one prompt in one country.
Your brand or your clients
During setup Botlum asks whether you track your own brand, your clients' brands, or both. The answer does not change what you can do. Agencies usually give each client its own workspace: see Organizations, workspaces and roles.
