Projects
A project is one brand: its names, domains, competitors and the markets you watch it in.
What a project is
A project is one brand you want to see in AI answers. It holds the brand's names and domains, the competitors you compare it with, and the prompts Botlum asks about it. A workspace can have several projects, for example one per product line or, for an agency, one per client brand.
Brand name and other names
Botlum finds your brand in an answer by its name and by its other names: abbreviations, old names, product names people use for the company. Add every form a person would write, up to 20. Matching ignores letter case and looks for whole words, so "Acme" is found in "Acme's" but not in "Acmeville".
Domains
The project's domains are how Botlum knows an answer cites your site. A page on a subdomain counts for its domain. Add every domain you own that answers might cite: country sites, a blog on another domain, a documentation site.
Competitors
Competitors are other brands you want measured the same way as yours: up to 20 per project, each with its own other names and up to five domains. Every number on the dashboard is counted for them too, so you can see who the engines name instead of you.
You do not have to guess them. Botlum lists the brands it finds in your answers. One click makes any of them a competitor, and its history is counted from the answers already collected. See Competitors and discovered brands.
Markets
A market is a country and its language. Answers differ by country, so Botlum asks each prompt in the country you choose, as a person there would, and reports each country separately. You choose the market of each prompt: see Prompts.
Editing a project
Changing the names, domains or competitors applies to answers already collected, not only to new ones. Botlum reads the stored answers again with the new settings, so the history stays comparable. The dashboard can take a little while to catch up.
Archiving a project
Archiving stops a project. Its prompts are archived with it and stop counting toward your plan's limit at once, and its share links stop working. Its history is kept.
