Prompts
The questions Botlum asks AI engines every day: one prompt in one country, on every engine.
One prompt in one country
A prompt is a question Botlum asks AI engines every day, in one country and one language. It is also what you pay for: a plan includes a number of prompts. The same question in three countries is three prompts. Every prompt is asked on every engine at no extra cost, so you never choose engines.
Writing good prompts
- Write the question the way a buyer would type it into an AI assistant, not as a keyword: "best CRM for a five-person sales team".
- Most prompts should not name your brand. A prompt that names you says little about being found; Botlum marks such prompts as branded so you can filter them out.
- Cover the stages a buyer goes through: discovering options, comparing them, checking a specific product, solving a problem.
- For a local business, put the city in the question: "plumber in Leeds open on Sunday".
- Write in the language of the market. Botlum suggests the market's language for each country.
Suggestions
On the Prompts page Botlum can suggest prompts from your brand profile: questions spread across your markets, with a small share that name your brand. Suggestions do not count toward your limit until you accept them. Accepted suggestions keep their topic.
Active, paused and archived
| State | Asked daily | Counts toward the limit |
|---|---|---|
| Active | Yes | Yes |
| Paused | No | No |
| Archived | No | No |
Pausing keeps the prompt ready to resume. Archiving retires it, and its answers stay in the history. The text, country and language of a prompt cannot be edited in place: editing one archives it and creates a new prompt. That way its history always belongs to the question that was asked.
Topics, tags and branded prompts
- Topic: one per prompt, such as "Pricing" or "Integrations". The dashboard can show visibility by topic.
- Tags: up to 10 free labels per prompt, such as a product line or a campaign.
- Branded: set automatically when the prompt text names your brand.
Every dashboard view, export and report can be filtered by topic, tag and branded.
Limits
Your plan sets how many prompts can be active at once, across all workspaces of the organization. Paused and archived prompts do not count. If an action would go over the limit, nothing changes and Botlum tells you how many prompts are free. During the trial the limit is 5 prompts.
